September is almost upon us!  With September comes Labor Day, and as we all know, Labor Day marks the end of the summer! It’s hard to imagine that the summer of 2010 is almost over.  It’s been a good summer for Aerex!  Weather wise, it was unbelievably hot and muggy!  We also had a lot of rain, as we all remember!  Warm weather and rain meant an active summer for the bugs and bees!  The season isn’t quite over though!  Yellow jackets are still very active, as our customers are telling us!

We’ve also had a lot of calls for bed bugs recently.  We’re amidst the most bed bug jobs Aerex has ever done.  As many of you have probably seen, bed bugs have been all over the news!  Chicago was ranked 5th on the list for the most bed bugs.  They are definitely becoming the biggest problem in pest control.  If bed bugs are bothering YOU…  we can help!

August has arrived!  It’s hard to believe the summer is so far along already!  It’s been a good summer for all of us at Aerex.  The extreme heat and tons of rain has made it a very buggy season, as we’re sure you have all noticed!  August brings a few changes for services we provide.  Power spray season is now over.  While wasps are still active usually through the very end of the season,  this late in the season the power spray is no longer quite as effective as treating individual nests that form.   The other change is the outside foundation sprays are now one application before the end of the season rather than two.  We hope everyone is enjoying their summer,  and as always, if there is anything we can do for you, please don’t hesitate to call!

Happy unofficial summer!  Memorial Day has come and gone, hard to believe it’s June already!  Half of 2010 has passed us by. It’s been a great year for Aerex, and hopefully for all of you as well.

Our phones have been busy here in the office, and our appointments are filling up very rapidly.  We get some customers upset over the fact that we can not get to their home the day they call us with a problem, but we want everyone to know that we do the best we can.  In the height of the season our technicians are working very hard to get all their stops done, and as their employer we can not give them more stops than they can handle.  We’ve had customers ask us, “If I call ‘insert big name pest control company’ why is it that they can come out the same day?”  Our best answer is that they have more technicians readily available with openings. They will take any job they can get their hands on.  Aerex is busy in the summer months because we do good service.  Our customers are going to call us year after year because they trust us to be able to handle their situation; even if it takes us a few extra days to get to their home.

Lastly, a note to our Evanston and Wilmette customers; you will be seeing a new face in your town very soon.  We recently hired a new technician for that route, so next time you call us for service you may be meeting a new Aerex technician.  He has 17 years of pest control experience so we’re confident he will do excellent service and represent us well!

As of April 24th, 2010 Aerex OFFICIALLY entered the Wisconsin market.  Congratulations to our technician, Erik, who became our 3rd certified technician in Wisconsin.  Erik will be our primary Wisconsin tech.  We want to send a special thanks out to Bob and Peggy who were our first Wisconsin customers.  Peggy was nice enough to write a note on our work ticket; “We are thrilled to be your first customer for our new home in Wisconsin.  We were very happy with your service at our old house in Lincolnshire over the past 20 years.  Thank you.”  So thank you to them for their continued service and support.

Also, since our new website has been up for awhile now we hope you’ve all had a chance to look through it.  The old Aerex website was outdated and unfortunately, very difficult to navigate.  The new site is much easier to use, and has many more functions that the old site was lacking.  Please feel free to use the “Contact Us” page to send us an e-mail anytime.  Whether you have a question, want to set up an appointment, or have a suggestion for us, we’re all ears!  If the e-mail is sent during business hours we will do our very best to respond within minutes, if it’s after hours, you can expect to hear from us first thing the following morning.

The weather we have been waiting for has returned!

Aerex is busy getting our equipment ready to do outside spraying.  The trucks and power spray rigs are being de-winterized to be ready for servicing the last week of April.  Look for us doing power sprays for bees and wasps as well as foundation sprays for migrating insects starting Monday, April 26, 2010.  In the next few weeks we will post a You Tube video of one of our technicians demonstrating outside service.

On another note, today is an exciting day for Aerex! Our first Wisconsin resident has been scheduled for our semi-annual household plan.  Last week, our technician, Erik, became our third certified technician in Wisconsin.  Congratulations to him!
